Dark Eldar Kabalite Warriors - Assembly

Here they are, some of my assembly work for the dark Eldar. I intend to paint them together with the already assembled, based and primed Archon so that we can see some consistency in features and colour scheme that I'm making up as I go along. These are assembled with the role of anti infantry in mind, equipped with Shredder and Splinter Cannon. These are ready to be primed once the glue is dried and set.

New Fire Prism

I'm trying to catch up with the latest GW models and after being away for so long, I'm rediscovering some really cool new release of the Eldar army. One of my favourite is the new Fire Prism. I just pick up this baby this morning and hope to start on it soon. Being such a unique and beautifully sculpted model, maybe I'll try to use the same motifs I used for the Serpent.

Hey all!

Yes I'm back after a long time dissapearing from the blogging world. There has been much going on with real life issues and I've finally fine some time to go back to one of my hobby of miniature and painting, not to mention being busy on my other blogs.

I was just going through some of my old inventory and I came across some of my really early miniatures, when I first painted when I started this hobby, my first squads of Guardians. I noticed that they were not that well done compared to my later models and took some time to add more highlights to them and proper basing, just to bring them to speed with the rest of my collection. It was fun and somewhat symbolic for me to complete them :).

Over the years, many of you will agree with me that the model selections and the power level of some of GW release has increase significantly to encourage more powerful models to be added on the tabletop. As I was touching up my older models, few things were going on in my mind. Whatever happen to small, friendly games, with really basic models, bring those power play down a few notch and enjoy the game for the same of the game itself.

Anyhow, you'll be seeing more from this blog in the near future as I will be turning my attention to the dark kin, yeah... I'm starting a Kabal soon!

Anyhow, good to be back and stay tune!

War Walker Squad Completed

Well, I did say I wanted to finish painting my Eldar inventory, and here they are, the last batch.

I've been collecting these guys over 3 battleforce boxes, never had any use of them. I'd like to try them out though with perhaps a more static list compared to my regular jetbike army list. The weapons are all removable, without the need of magnets. One of these actually took longer than painting say a SM dreadnought, as it has more surface to cover and finner details to pickup. I'm looking forward to paint up my other Sentinels for my IG to match up these guys across the table :)

Hope you guys had a wonderful Christmas!

I know, I know, its been like almost forever since I've put anything onto this blog. I've neglected my eldar way too long now to be ignored so rest assure, I will put some paint onto those models that I've stockpiled all this while.

I was busy finishing my 4th Company Ultramarines and I'm glad to report that I'm 2 models away from painting all my space marines inventory. Below is the link to my other blog on the progress. Overall I think my average on the models quality are about 6.5-7.0 on CMON rating. I'm pretty satisfied with it. It took me about 6 months to complete the army (in between work, family and moving around).

So what about my other armies? Well, as for my Imperial Guard http://byzantum.blogspot.com/ I'll be continuing where I left, and even better equipped now with more bitz from my much collected space marines sprues. I'm keen to start off again with some heavy armour. I've got some OOP models like hellhound and demolisher waiting to be assembled. Soon, I'll order some reinforcements like Valkyrie and perhaps a centerpiece for my regiment(a baneblade perhaps?). I think I've experimented and practiced well enough with my space marine mech, and gain more confidence in painting imperial vehicles with the right weathering effects.

I have been moving several places lately, due to work and commitments and have not a chance to get in touch with local gaming communities and certainly no gaming activities and battle report for months. Hence there is no posting for an army which I've completed 6 month ago. If time (and budget) permits me, perhaps I'll get my hands on some of those juicy Forgeworld battlesuits, especially the recetly released XV-9.

A travelling hobbyist like me who has been travelling with his gear is rather good at being a pack rat. I have a reservoir of newly painted models which i can't wait to give them a baptism of fire as soon as I am able to settle down to a more permanent location and to get to know a gaming club and play some games. I look forward to next year as there is prospect of this happening very soon.

Revenant Titan Kit

I got back to Abu Dhabi to find myself with a surprise, a late birthday present from my beloved wife, which arrived here during my absence. She was hoping that I'll received it before my trip back to Kuala Lumpur, but the mail just missed me by a day, it was great nonetheless! She really made my day :D

Shown here are parts which I've laid across, to check and make sure all the parts are there. Some warped pulsar will just need a bit of hot water to get it straighten up but overall, the quality is fantastic and the resins are well detailed. Different head options and transportation convenience calls for magnetic parts. I intend to customize a carry case just for it.

Can't wait to get it started!

In the process of completing my Tau army and in between that a taste of IG and Space Marines, I realized that my painting style and skills have been improving over the past >2 years of painting and hobby. Some of my earlier models of the Eldar army I’ve started with are pretty much amateurish and at present moment, I find rather unacceptable, knowing that I could have done better. Some of these models are my favorite ones with many kills in their records like Fire Dragons and my favorite Dire Avengers. Not to mention, my jetbike squads has lots of highlight and details missing on them and just wouldn’t do the honor of this fierce wind-raider warhost!

Lots of them are done in quick dry brushing and thin ink and highlights that just wouldn’t do.So, I’m dedicating the next few days trying to refurbish and upgrade the appearance of the war-host (in the same time, alternate with my other armies too) and bringing it to a more acceptable level, making every piece counts and as complete as possible. In the same time, I’m customizing some traveling case for the army. I’ve now 2 active and completed army for a variety of configurations at all points level up to average of 2500pts for my Saim Hann and Tau Cadre. I’m using aluminum tool boxes purchased from Carrefour hyper-mart (USD15 each), and lots foams from ACE hardware (for some reason, I can’t get them here in Abu Dhabi, the stock I’ve been using are the ones I’ve purchase from Malaysia, much better equipped back home). These foams are customizable, and I’ve cut and assembled them to maximize the volume, and shapes of the model to fit the case. I can fit one entire army in one case with 3 tier of customized foam tray each.

These boxes are made from aluminum, which gives a more solid feel, very rigid and about 5-6 inches shorter compared to the length of the GW Army Case, relatively light and has enough padding on the inside surface for the extra security. I’m not worried about checking them into baggage for my travels and let the baggage crew swing them around. I did some swinging test myself and everything inside looks untouched and safely secured.

Back then, I was less confident in experimenting and most of the Eldar models are not up to par with my latest models in my other armies. In my next project, I'm moving back to my eldar army, which I'm trying to upgrade in terms of its appearance and making sure that my first army is painted to a quality display standard or good table top quality at the very least.

With all the hype on the new IG codex, I'm somewhat caught in the bug and ready to build a new IG army soon! I've made some purchase on some IG models but will now wait for the new codex before I begin mass assembly, just to be sure I get what I need in the army organization.

In the meantime, I'll just write some fluffs, develop some concepts and perhaps test paint a guardsmen or two.

Allegria, Cirque du Soleil

It's really weeks of harlequins for me!

Just as I've finished painting my harlequins, Alegria of cirque du soleil is in town, as if to reward me for finishing the paint-job. Well not exactly to my town in Abu Dhabi but in Dubai, which is only an hour of driving. I've enjoyed the other troupe in Singapore, Quidam and can't wait to see what's in store here, which I'm sure its more than a bunch of guys/girls in tights!

Harlequins Completed

On my painting table, there's a tray of completed assembled miniatures, which I've sort of made a rule, that I should try to finish painting all of those miniatures before I begin to assemble anything else. That way, I'll think twice before assembling the next exciting model that comes along and neglect some of the models I've already assembled/based.

Of course, rules are meant to be broken...

These harlequins have been on my tray for a good few months now, being put on hold, partly because other exciting models like tau mech got my attention and partly because i was nervous to make an attempt on them, as the quality of deliverables on these guys are relatively of a higher standard.

Well, as seen here, eventually I put my foot down and got it painted, and painfully slow it was! Really, its all in the mind and when you put the effort into it and after the first model was done, the rest comes rather naturally.

It's gonna be exciting now that I have a completed harlequin squad to play and its equally exciting to see that my tray is empty again! More models on the way!

Painting Harlequins

Well, now that I’m on it, may as well put up an article on methods I’m using to paint these guys. Note that there are many different colors and methods to paint these wonderfully sculpted minis, as this is just one way to do it. I’m going for the GW scheme here, but feel free to improvise and have your own palette of colors of your choice. Other wonderful example of works can be found in cool or not mini sites such as this:

(take deep breath) Now for the rest of us mortals, we can have a rather satisfactory well painted harle with few simple methods and once broken down, they don’t seem that complicated at all. I always have the mindset of setting a certain minimal goal or standard in mind which I will try to achieve and if it turns out well, they I will further endeavor to see if I can bring it to another level.

So, relax, have your favorite warm drink ready, your tools and paint at hand, and let’s get started.

Picture 1: Undercoat and Basing
It’s always good practice to have a proper basing and undercoat done on the mini first. Here I choose chaos black as undercoat, as some of the finishing layers are black and speeds up the process too. There a lot of fine niches and groves on the minis, so take your time to make sure the model is well coated. Even at the highlighting stage I realized I missed out some parts at hidden corners.

Picture 2: Base colors
Map out the base colors of the models. Apply them in thin layers over the respective areas. Here is seen there 2 kind of surface, the matte colors and the metallic ones. For the normal colors, layering shall be used later for highlights and washes are used on the metallic later to bring out the shine.

As the undercoat is black, any mistakes and blotches are easily remedied so, don’t be afraid to use some speed to cover it thoroughly.

Make sure the coats are even and well distributed. Always remember to use thin layers to avoid brush marks and have a smooth finish. It’ll be easier for the highlights later

Parts to take note: Checker-box uniform
Here I’m using red gore and enchanted blue for the checker box uniform. There’s 2 examples here, which is red gore based and enchanted blue based.

Parts to take note: Harlequin masks
The bone white finish masks or harlequin can be done in 2 menthods. One is show with a base of blue color and the other is white based. The enchanted blue base will have thin layer of white color over it while showing the blue as shadow and highlights. The white base will have washes over it to bring out the shape later on. Both methods can be done with similar and good results. Personally I find that the white base method is easier and faster, and lots more control on the tones.

Here the focus is on the checker box uniform. I’ve freehand the pattern on the uniform by just drawing on it with the opposite color. Of course my first try has always been a disaster but with practice, I did manage to get them right. Again, don’t worry about mistakes, as long as we keep the paint thin, it can be easily corrected.

So once the areas are well covered with the patterns, we can move on to the highlights.

Parts to take note: Harlequin masks
Notice to bone white which as been applied on the blue based mask harle, this is done over several thin layers to control the distribution and leave out certain areas to be blue.

Picture 4: Highlights
Here’s my favorite part. First of all, determine where the ‘source of light’ for the pattern areas. This will dictate which area to be bright and which area to be dark as shown in the diagram.

For the red areas, the color used are as follows:
Blazing Orange – Highlights
Blood Red – Mid tones
Red Gore – Dark tones

For the Blue areas, the color used are as follows:
50/50 Bone White and Enchanted Blue – Highlights
Enchanted Blue – Mid tones
Regal Blue – Dark tones

I’ve notice that the GW site also mentioned of having the lines drawn up in black first as a guide for drawing the patterns. That is also a good technique to keep consistency, but I personally prefers to have the highlights to emphasis on the ‘emboss’ part of the texture rather than using lines.

On the white base mask Harle, here I’ve added washes mixed from bleached bone and blood red (with lots of water) and let it into the recess of the mask, bring out the white tone and has a warmer feel compared to the blue based mask harle which has a cold look.

Next, I’ll add more pics on the highlight of areas like the belt, gems, and other parts of the model. Stay tune!

Tau Terrain Template

I'm experimenting with 'wallpaper' terrain, kinda like a fold out graphic terrain. Something that one can print, cut out and paste on some hardboards for instant terrain making, beats using a bottle for a tower, eh? I'd recommend a print scale to fit on A3 size paper for this one.

Here is a first attempt at a Tau theme terrain. Its a simple and symetrical shape and design, done with photoshop and CAD. I'll be attempting on more complicated design and texture base.

Tau Architecture?

Just to share what I’ve produce at work, which somewhat relates to our lovely hobby…

The mind works in associative manner. Over time, what we produce very much influence our perception, pre-conceived ideas in a rather unconscious way, that one can see the pattern of thinking just by looking at the results.

I can’t help but looking over some of the architectural sketches and works I’ve produced at my work place at the same time I’ve started painting my Tau Army. I’ve notice a rather strong influence in its elements and my strokes. Curved edges, streamlined and sci-fi mechanical aesthetic of its appearance comes into place.

This is my sketch of a commercial centre somewhere in the middle east, part of a major development here. At first glance, I would think of it as some sort of a military Tau bunker…

The client is somewhat agreeable to the proposal, and I’m in the process of developing a physical model for in the scale of 1:500. I’m excited to begin development soon. However, I’d imagine final result would be more contemporary and responsive to its context rather than the plastic and white feel of a Tau terrain. Nonetheless, if I were to place my minis next to this, it will still somehow and can’t help but to blend together!

Conversion and Assembly

After spending another week on painting one of the most difficult unit to paint, my second Tau Fire Warrior Squad, I’ve decided to stay off the brush for a while and go all out a bit on assembly and conversions.

First off, I’ve assembled the Pirahna kit I just picked up in CM and true enough this is a very nice model kit. Similar in size and capability as the Eldar Vyper, this small fast skimmer is sleek and looks great when assembled. Though not very popular as it is expensive in points and has not the survivability or weapon choice as its Eldar counterpart, I’m still gonna field this as there aren’t many fast attack choice I have and it looks freaking cool! After a bit of putty and fill up the gaps, this is gonna be the first model I’m painting next…

Before that I did prime a six man squad of harlequins and have yet got the nerve to paint them. You may recall the finely painted GW harlequins on their website and trying to achieve that or even close is a daunting task. So, they’re always on the painting table to tease me.

Next, there are 2 Eldar HQ models on jetbike which I’ve put on hold until now. Green stuff are used a lot on a farseer on jetbike and I’ve chopped up a heavy weapon platform from a guardian squad to beef up the jetbike looks. I kinda like they turned out and I’m sure if I spend another hour on these 2 there maybe more changes to it. So far so good…

And still in progress are assembled Tau Pathfinders from bits and pieces of left overs from 2 Fire Warrior Squad and some parts from the Hammerhead tank commanders. I was really short on torso and have just enough legs plus 2 tank commanders with just enough heads to make a full eight man pathfinder squad. To compensate the shortage of torso, I used the extra eldar jetbike riders. After polishing off the buttons on the rider torso, they look quite ok for a pathfinder, pretty much like a Kevlar vest look, and most of them are helmetless, giving them a veteran and light infantry feel. I’ve chopped up lots of bit to make the rail-rifle and it turned up ok.

Alright folks,

These are not entirely fresh as I just got my new camera and took some pics of my minis...

There are total of 3 squads of Dire Avengers, which I have 3 serpents to go with it as transports. The Guardian squad here are my 4th and 5th squad and my ranger/pathfinders are still WIP.

I can confidently say that my infantry troop choice are pretty much well taken care of, now i just need to concentrate on the heavy weapon platform and a few warlocks to go with it.

Battle of turn 3s

I had 2 battles the other day by being in CMart for just a couple of hours. This is of course possible with the fact that both the battles had to be stopped at turn 3. The first battle was with the Necrons, and Raymond had to bail out, so until now I have yet to have a proper battle with him. The second battle was with Richard's Orks, and this time I was the one who had to leave in haste to pick up my wife from work.

Anyhow, again this is again treated like a play exercise. As usual the necron was making good progress in tearing me apart, while it was more of the other way around with Orks. The battles were at 1500 pts and 750 pts respectively. I've yet to find a way to effectively keep the necrons at bay, damn! Richard's Orks are painted in total awesomeness!! I was humbled!

Anyhow, here are some pics of the day, and since both battle didn't really end, I'll just skip the battle report and all.

Eldar Units Modifications - Customized Rules Part 1

Here, I attempt to bring out some flavor by trying to diversify the variants of the existing Eldar vehicles...

These modifications are made up totally by myself and I'm hoping for some comments on the custom rules. They are based on assumptions of scenarios of what a normal eldar fleet may encounter and the evolution of their technology over context, change of needs, the environment, so on and so forth. I also utilize the VDR software to derive points and also other arbitrary estimation to suit the current edition of rules and codex.

Not enough points to justify? too cheesy?... if you have any comments please feel free to put in some thoughts.... I need some comments on these drafts before i can confidently put this on the table for game play (with the agreement from the opponent of course!). Thanks.

Saim Hann Jetbike Chop-Shop Part 1

I was just clearing up some bitz parts from my wave serpent and falcon sprues the other day and thought of removing them from the sprue to save some storage space. As I was categorizing them and separating them, I suddenly had the urge to do some experiments with them.

Recalling a custom reaver bike model I saw on cool or not mini site, I actually have enough parts from the weapon and serpent sprues to make 6 more bikes! just enough for a decent squad. It looks more like the reaver bikes and I added a few more parts to make them look like the new upcoming release of the eldar jetbike.

The only thing lacking was the canopy of the jetbikes, which seems to be simple and easy enough to press mold and make copies of with some epoxy I purchased from a hardware shop earlier. Apart from that, most of the parts are GW bits. Currently, I am working on the color scheme and trying to chop of more bits from a guardian squad as the bike-riders. They are slightly longer than the normal jetbikes.

Ingredients are as follows:

1. One Shuriken Cannon, choped in the centre, right after the shuriken chain magazine feed.
2. One Eldar Missile Launcher, cut of at the cone,
3. One pair of the wave serpent weapon turret cover as rear jet chassis,
4. One pair of twin linked shuriken catapult, or one shuriken cannon for upgrades,
5. Bits and pieces from a guardian squad's accessories.
6. Jetbike canopy, may use other design as well,
7. Jetbike handle, (in this case I have enough leftovers from 2 box of shining spears, may be replaced with other parts.)

Saim Hann Vs Golgothan Sturmmacht

Farseer Anastari watches over the remnants of the her kins regrouping. The campaign to return to CMT-01 has been mixed of success and failure. To avoid detection, she had to divide the forces into small pockets of strike forces and appear through webways in various strategic location in Formund. All of encounters with the Necrons near the southern hemisphere was disasters, with heavy loses, and so was the first encounter with the traitor guards of Golgothan Sturmmacht. A small pocket of Orks offer little resistance, but she suspects there will be more of the Greenskins soon. So far the most successful battle was against the Red Guards. Her group was successful in halting their advance, after a failure in negotiation, but there are smaller patrol teams of the IGs still roaming, and managed to take down some of her own patrol teams.

Now, in her 3rd week in Formund, she managed to gather the survivors and regroup them to form another strike force against the Stummacht again. This time, to hold an important area to cast a larger webway for the rest of the eldar strike force to arrive from Emiratus, where her Autarch will be joining her. This would be critical point in the strategic planning of the battles to come.

The Golgothans are detected only some few miles away and were given orders to claim the same location. The location with strong energies, ideal for both either a webway for the eldar or a warp gate for the chaos forces. The ruinous forces intends to increase their presence in Formund, and the Farseer will make sure they do not succeed. She wished the news from her rangers would come a little later as the gathering of her forces can’t seem to be quick enough to organize a concentrated force to take down the traitor guards in a quick and hard manner. She could feel that this is definitely a battle that will see much of bloodshed on both sides.

Without hesitation, she send of her jetbikes to slow down the advance of the traitor guards along with a Prism and a group of Dire Avengers and a Falcon. Soon she will be joining the battle herself.

Anastari remembers well the first battle against one what used to be the best Emperor’s guardsmen. She had paid a heavy price with the lost of another Farseer and many of her kins, and losing the first battle. It is a pity these fine guardsmen have turned towards the Dark Gods, for they will face the wrath of Kaine today, quickening their journey to feed their souls to the dark gods.

From a distance, she could see the guardsmen on foot setting up the defensive lines around the objective. Already the traitor Mon Keighs has occupied the areas.

The 2 squads of jet-bikes took cover along the eastern flank after deployment. A hellhound and 2 sentinels can be seen leading the traitor guards, coming from the western flank and quickly occupied the fortress ruins, ready to take down any eldars dare to come close to the objective. Unlike the traitor guards which leaves a trail of decay and malice in their path, a fire prism arrived with the earth untouched at the opposite direction, ready to face the hellhound and the sentinels head-on. A falcon tank and a wave serpent was deployed in between the jetbike squads ready to overwhelm the traitors on the eastern flank.

One of the jetbike squad opens fire its shuriken cannons and tries to trim down the lascannon team, only to be taken down entirely by the demolisher tank and its heavy bolters in a spectacular fashion! Another leman russ battle tank was deployed next to it and starts to fire its shells on the falcon. The lascannon heavy weapon teams and the leman russ tanks started to concentrate fire on the western flank eldar units, only to shake the crews of the skimmer tank and managed to destroy the 1st wave serpent. All the dire avengers were forced to disembark with one casualty. The jetbikes keep pumping shurikens into the heavy weapon team and managed to annihilate them, while using their speed to take cover from enemy fire.

On the western flank, the prism failed to do any significant damage to the hellhound and the sentinels. The Dark Gods had bestowed their unholy blessings on the crude vehicles! This will have a great repercussion in the later stage. However the holofield has proved its worth and the intense firepower forces the fire prism to take cover behind some terrain, encroaching into the eastern flank.

The Farseer finally joined the fray along with a second wave serpent with another squad of dire avengers. With great speed and agility, she managed to get near the falcon, deploying the fire dragon squads. The melta guns from these well-trained aspect warriors made short work of the massive battle tank. The farseer was there to ensure the accuracy of the dragons and guarantees the destruction of the leman russ. The demolisher tank was stunned by the farseer’ signing spear, spared the eldars from the mighty gun in the next turned.

The demolisher tank moves forward away from the Fire Dragon’s breath and puffs out the smoke grenades. All the eldar unit ignores the metal behemoth this round. The forced disembarked dire avengers squad wiped the dust of their shoulders gathered their courage and moved into range to pump out shuriken and emptied their magazine using the Exarch’s Bladestorm, almost took out an entire advancing angry charging guardsmen, forcing a morale failure. The second wave serpent turbo boosted in a hazy red ghost, getting closer to the western flank and bracing itself for the firepower it is about to face.

In the 2 turns, the fire dragons managed to embarked and disembarked again to do its melta magic on the demolisher tank, repeating their success, again this time with the Farseer’s Guide. The 2nd wave serpent moved into the enemy strong hold area and started to fire its shuriken cannons, tying hard to cut down more guardsmen. The second dire avenger squad, which has disembarked earlier, did another bladestorm, annihilating another squad of traitor guards, screaming in agony as they were approaching from the west flank. In the meantime, the first dire avenger squad fleeting towards the objective, with inhuman speed, ready to put its weight into claiming it.

The sentinels and the ever-dedicated heavy weapon squad from the opposite flank was trying to bring down the skimmer tanks but to no avail. The fire prism pops out of cover and further reduces the numbers of the heavy weapon squad, taking cover in the fortress ruins. One of the officers managed to pass leadership test and charged towards the 2nd Dire Avenger squad, heroically cuts down 3 DA warriors before he goes down in glory! It takes a great number of the dedicated aspect warriors to tame the fury of this lost soul.

By turn 6, the eldars took a chance and brings in all the skimmers (the prism, falcon and the rest of the bikes) to the centre of the table along with the jebikes to claim the objective. It was a risky move as Ian’s next few rolls will have the game extended to turn 9! The Dark Gods wanted more blood!

The first dire avenger squad advancing towards the objective and annihilated another squad of guardsmen in an array of shuriken, darkening the sky! In return, they were almost wiped out and failed leadership by the unexpected flamer from the hellhound across the battlefield, leaving their souls trapped in their spirit stones. The second avenger squad managed to reduce another guardsmen squad number taking cover behind the fortress. They would later make the run and fleet and contributed as a scoring unit, with the angry charging image of the Traitor Officer still fresh in their minds.

Having taking the risk of claiming the objective, the eldars are exposing themselves to concentrated fire in the next few extended turns. So, bracing themselves, a wave serpent and the falcon was destroyed from melta and lascannon fire (Ian rolled a double 6s, well done, lad!), leaving skimmer crashing elegantly in the centre of the table. The Fire Prism persevered and survived almost all the attacks, thanks to the unique technology of the holo-field. The Farseer in her jet-bike, snipes behind the cover and managed to disable, immobilized one sentinel while disarming the other and destroyed the hellhound with her singing spear in the 3 extended turns, somehow the stubborn guards has to pay the price too! The last jetbike squad was locked in combat with 2 squads of guardsmen, destroying one squad of guardsmen, while survived until one last bike at the end of the game still locked in combat with the second guardsmen squad, like a mounted knight towering a mob of flesheaters!

By the end of turn 9, it was a quite a sight with the wreckage of vehicles and blood trailing from the western flank to the east, indicating the progress of the battle and and even larger wreckage near the objective, signs of a desperate struggle of both sides in the centre of the table. If you had come in and watched the game at the last turn, you may be able to guess and imagine the concentration and the trail of action from one side of the table to the other.

Farseer Anastari watches the traitor guards retreating from their stronghold. The price to pay to control this objective is just too great for her to accept. Surely they have won the bloody battle, but they have pleased the Dark Gods today. Remaining on her jetbike, she could only look at the destruction resulted from the stubborn traitor guards. Ko’el, pulls over his bike next to the Farseer, waiting for the right moment to speak.

“We have collected all the spirit stones from the fallen, my lady” he reports.

“Make sure the wounded are tended and prepare to regroup and reorganize the battle squads,” the farseer instructed “ tell me, Ko’el, do you think is all this worth it?”

“My lady, I believe your guidance will lead us to victory and salvation, as it has today” reply the guardian “the bonesingers are ready for your instruction to erect the warp gate,” Ko’el knew that that is all that needs to be said and left the Farseer to her thoughts.

From the bottom of the valley and near the wreckage, the survivors of the eldar strike force could see the elegance and the majestic presence of their leader. She is both a sight to behold and fear on the fury that she has brought to this battlefield. What they couldn’t see, a tear she has just shed for the fallen behind the emotionless helmet.

Asurman

Here's one of my earlier works on conversion and painting.

The Asurman here is a guardian + DA exarch parts. The legs are fully sculptured to get that pose and pinned on the epoxy-stone base. The rest are green stuffed heavily and pretty happy with the results. The picture was taken before some further touch-ups were done, and I have the taoist (ying and yang) symbol decal on the cape, fits pretty well...

I'm planning on doing Feugan as my next Phoenix lord conversion with the extra dragon and guardian bits I have ...

Storm Guardians

With all the extra goodies I've collected from the other left over of sprues from the scorpion, banshee, wraithlord and some DA stuffs, I managed to piece together enough plastic for a conversion of defender guardians to stormies.

Here, there are taken with my custom converted Autarch which is also from the guardian sprue and lots of heavy greenstuff.

Can't wait to sink their teeth on some fire-warriors or those pesky IG heavy weapon squads....

With apocalypse fever still going on high, I finally have the excuse of gathering all the falcon I can get my hands on. One is from ebay, the other 2 is from a falcon sprue and a fire prism sprue. I'm making one of the pulse laser interchangeable with the fire prism.

There's still some highlights to be completed on these birds....

Now where did I put those fire dragons of mine, hmmmm......

The Rise of the Serpent

Hi Y'all,

I've started an Eldar Saim Hann theme army just about a year ago and steadily have increased in numbers. I'm a super slow painter and my wallet is draining up faster than my hands can paint! The apocalypse splash released really helped saved a lot and ironically, it was only recently that I bought jetbikes with the wind-raider host released!

I'm really a hobbyist first and player second, and would probably post more stuffs on hobby than battle reports. I've ambition to collect an eldar army worthy of an apocalypse magnitude!
